Back up the environment

Downloads a single JSON file containing every user, draft, saved entry and the full audit log, plus a read-only snapshot of the non-secret configuration. Secrets — the database password, session secret and bootstrap admin password — live only in the environment and are never written to the file.

Restore from a backup

This replaces everything. Every user, draft and saved entry is overwritten with the backup's contents. All active sessions — including yours — end, so you will be signed out and must sign in again. The existing audit log is preserved (append-only); it is reloaded from the backup only when restoring onto a brand-new, empty system.
